[Matches] DGL Weekly
2008-09-19
Hello everyone, I'm Analogy and I have taken it upon myself to keep everyone informed about what's going on in the league.
Now, I obviously know a lot about the matches I play in and the teams I play against often, but I need to know what's going on all over the league. For the best writeups about your matches, please contact me on Steam (I've already added a lot of you, I'm Analogy) after you have finished playing and let me know how your matches went, as well as what you anticipate for your next matchup.
Last week's matches
#3 Kaya vs. #1 WHDRITB, Detonate: Kaya sent WHDRITB back down the ladder in a (4/14:32)-(4/19:56) victory. Kaya easily broke through WHDRITB's usually reliable 2nd objective defense, while WHDRITB had trouble breaking through a very tough 4th objective defense by Kaya, capturing it with only seconds to go before the end of the map.
#5 LOSD vs. #2 PI, Detonate: PI smoked through the map in just over 5 minutes in a decisive 4-3 victory to hold on to their #2 slot. LOSD didn't put on enough pressure and allowed too many backhacks, not getting a decent look at the 4th objective until 15 minutes had passed.
#6 DNI vs. #4 PSY, Vaccine: What can you do when you're in the #6 slot and the only clan you can challenge is the best clan in the game, sitting in the #4 slot due to a run of bad luck? DNI went for it, either hoping PSY's bad luck would continue or just not wanting to sit out the week. Either way, they got pummeled 3-0.
#8 QRN vs. #7 NK, Silo: Try as they might, QRN just can't climb past NK. In their third challenge against NK in a row, they lost 3-0.
This week's matches
#4 PSY vs. #1 Kaya, Vaccine, 9/21 19:00 GMT: PSY didn't challenge last week, preferring to save their challenge for #1. PSY is out to get revenge on Kaya for knocking them out of their long-held #1 spot for the second time last month. PSY's challenges this season have followed a strict rotation of just 3 maps, Assemble, Vaccine and Silo, where their blitzkrieg offense is most effective, and the only maps that they have not lost on this season.
#3 WHDRITB vs. #2 PI, Vaccine, 9/21 20:00 GMT: PI has not won a match on Vaccine all season and WHDRITB is hoping to keep it that way as they make a move for the #2 slot. PI got lucky a couple weeks ago when PSY was forced to play shorthanded on one of their weaker maps, but unless they get lucky again their stay in the #2 slot should be short-lived.
#6 DNI vs. #5 LOSD, Detonate, 9/20 19:00 GMT: Look for lots of lag as DNI, with players in America and Australia, play LOSD, based out of Germany. DNI will be at a lag disadvantage, with their Australian players having to play against ping on both halves of the match.
